  • Networks

One central task of the IBU is to allow members to network with each other and with key partners from outside the association. You will find an overview of the various network connections here:

The member network – the community for business success

The members of the sheet-metal working industry association support each other in the pre-competitive stage. This involves exchanging information and experience, disclosing contacts, working together on projects and in working parties, as well as joint attendance at exhibitions.

The association network – To promote the sheet-metal forming industry in Germany

The IBU enables the members of the association to benefit from the knowledge of the subsidiary associations, from the services of the trade association steel and metal working (WSM), and the Federal Trade Association of German Industry (BDI) and the working group of the supplier industry (ArGeZ). We work intensively with these associations in the various bodies.

ICOSPA – The international network

The associations of the sheet-metal forming industry from China, Germany, England, France, Japan and the US have come together in the association ICOSPA . Mutual company visits are organised here, key figures exchanged, and a comprehensive exchange of experience takes place. An international congress is held every three years.

The network of experts– for specific questions

The supply chain is focused on its value-added processes. The companies use tried-and-tested service providers and external advisers, who answer the questions expertly and purposely. The sheet-metal forming association makes a note of your questions and passes them on to suitable advisers.

Co-operation partners in the network

KIST – Expertise and innovation centre for punching technology in Dortmund

In the KIST the focus is on improving competitiveness by offering staff effective training and further training in metal-processing companies. The IBU and KIST thoroughly support the qualification and professional development of staff and are advertising the new apprenticeship “punching and forming mechanic”.

onepower – The purchasing pool

Member companies are able to use the onepower purchasing pool under preferential conditions thanks to the co-operation between byNIRO GmbH and the IBU. onepower provides you with the opportunity to purchase materials, services and energy economically and effectively.
